Education – Classroom

In order to have an effective teaching space, high speech intelligibility is required. This means the classroom must have low reverberation time, low background noise, and low sound transmission from adjacent spaces.

• The suspended ceiling will absorb and contain sound within the classroom.
  
  
• Proper wall construction that extends above the ceiling to the deck will improve transmission through the ceiling plenum.
  
  
• The addition of wall treatments can further reduce reverberation and improve sound isolation between classrooms.
