A closed office carries an expectation of privacy.

• A well designed wall that extends from slab-to-slab will limit sound intrusion between adjacent rooms, and will normally preserve privacy while reducing distractions.
  
  
• If the wall height is only to the ceiling, then the suspended ceiling must both absorb sound within the room to provide adequate sound quality, and block sound transmission through the ceiling plenum, to provide privacy between the adjacent spaces.
  
  
• The addition of wall treatments can further reduce reverberation and enhance speech privacy.
