Millions of Australians each day work under an Armstrong ceiling system or on an Armstrong Floor. Around the world - Armstrong
is the world's largest manufacturer of resilient vinyl flooring products and the largest manufacturer of acoustic ceilings
systems. Manufacturing facilities are placed all over the globe, including Australia, where today, two flooring plants operate.
Armstrong in Australia is a manufacturer and supplier of resilient floor finishes and acoustic ceiling and wall systems. Floor
Operations (AFP) is run under the banner of Armstrong World Industries (Australia) Pty. Ltd. and and Building Operations (ABP)
under Armstrong World Industries Pty. Ltd.. The two Armstrong floor plants are the only resilient (vinyl) flooring plants
in Australia and therefore Armstrong is the only supplier committed to local manufacture.
Armstrong Building Products
We have offices in Queensland (Brisbane), New South Wales (Sydney) - which is head office, and Victoria (Melbourne). We also
have distributors who handle all of our enquires in Western Australia (Perth), South Australia (Adelaide) and New Zealand
(Auckland). They are single distributors and form part of a national network.
We are Australia/New Zealand's largest supplier of acoustic ceiling systems. Armstrong itself has distribution outlets (warehousing/offices)
in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with Sydney serving as head-office. External distribution partners operate in New Zealand,
South Australia and Western Australia. In total the company leads in both architectural specifications (major projects) with
it's strength in techincal people, and the small day-to-day business via the east access distribution system.
Product/names such as Second Look, Pelude XL, Minaboard, Dune, Ultima, Sahara and Textura are synonomous with Australian buildings. These products contain up to and, in some cases, over 70% of recycled content.
Tens of millions of square metres of Armstrong material are installed in Australia/New Zealand buildings working each day
above millions of Australians/New Zealanders to provide comfort and aesthetic appeal.
The People
Close to 200 people are directly employed by the combined divisions, representing over 25 nationalities. These people are
our key and there is more than 1,000 years of combined expertise within the Armstrong Australian Family. Including suppliers
and associated bodies, over 1,000 people a day are at work in continuing the Armstrong market leadership.
